Adult. Issue No. 1. A World In Us

New York: Adult Content LLC, 2013. Quarto, publisher's stiff photo-illustrated wraps.

"[R]eads as if Hustler married The Paris Review" (New York magazine). Inaugural issue of writer and art critic Sarah Nicole Prickett’s "new erotics" magazine. Established in 2013 alongside art director Berkeley Poole and publisher Noah Wunsch, the triannual was inspired by Prickett’s longtime desire to produce her own magazine and produce highbrow pornographic material that was appealing beyond the gender binary. Described as a "magazine that you can take to bed," Adult featured photography, interviews, criticism, essays, fiction, and original reporting related to women’s sexuality. This issue contains "stolen emails" from Rachel Kushner, poetry cut-ups by Dody Bellamy, fiction by Stephanie LaCava and Alexander Chee, a profile on Deborah Kampmeier by Durga Chew-Bose and lone on David Cronenberg by Catherine Miller, and a Florida travelog by Joe Coscarelli. Salaciously illustrated in color and black-and-white with drawings and photo editorials by Nancy Reyes, Flora Hanitijo and Henrik Purienne. Fine. Item #7383
