GirlFrenzy. Nos. 3-6
London: GirlFrenzy, 1992-95. 4 vols., quarto, publisher's stapled illustrated paper wraps.
Four early issues of British graphic designer Erica Smith’s feminist zine. Established in 1991 during the height of the riot grrrl movement, GirlFrenzy featured content exclusively by and for women, primarily comic strips, alongside interviews, reviews, "womanifestos," letters, and articles on hot topics of the era such as sexism, relationships, bisexuality, body hair, pornography, and more. The publication ran for eight years, with an anthology published in 2000, and Smith organizing collaborative zine-making events up to 2016. Highlights of this collection include interviews with Carol Swain, Shonen Knife, and Stereolab; content on The Shaggs, Mina Loy, and Joan Aiken; and art by Freddie Bair, Lee Kennedy, Karren Ablaze!, Megan Kelso, Myfanwy "Miffy" Tristram. Illustrated in black-and-white. Price sticker to upper wraps of each issue. Some rubbing and creasing to wraps. Very good. Uncommon. Item #13493
