Authored by French art historian and curator Pierre Provoyeur, this book surveys Vivier’s creative process and creative milestones, including his role as shoe designer for Christian Dior from 1953-63, the shoes he created for Queen Elizabeth II's coronation in 1953, and other designs he created for celebrities and notable figures. Inscribed by Vivier in black marker to half-title: "Pour Heinz / très amicalement / Roger Vivier / NY 9/2/93" with an original drawing of an haute couture stiletto. Illustrated with color and black-and-white photos by Jacques Boulay, Vivier’s original sketches, and reproductions; with notes and an index. Text in French.
