Photobook by poet, filmmaker, and key Warhol associate Gerard Malanga, published by American art photographer Ralph Gibson’s imprint Lustrum Press (best known for publishing Larry Clark’s Tulsa in 1971). An homage to the painter Balthus, Autobiography of a Sex Thief integrates Malanga’s erotic poetry, text fragments by 20th-century greats such as Freud and Goethe, and nudes and semi-nudes of women among other sensual scenes.
