Box set of the first ten issues of Top Stories, artist and photographer Anne Turyns downtown art and literature periodical. Turyn published the series of single-author little magazines, predominantly by women, between 1978 and 1991. Reflecting the experimental ethos of downtown New York at that time, several issues bridged the gap between the written word and visual art by pairing a writers prose with work by an artist. This gathering includes issues by Donna Wyszomierski, Laurie Anderson (with a cover photo by Marcia Resnick), Pati Hill, Suzanne Johnson, Linda Neaman, Gail Vachon, Jenny Holzer with Peter Nadin, Judith Doyle, Kathy Acker, and Lynne Tillman (with drawings by Jane Dickson). All issues first printings, except #2 (second printing). Light soiling and minor edgewear to a few issues, original cardstock slipcase with moderate soiling, creasing and wear. Very good overall.
