Author and photographer William Berlin Goolsby’s self-published "read as you ride" guide to traveling across Mexico by motor vehicle. Cited as one of the earliest guides of its kind for exploring the region, this handbook includes detailed mileage charts, elevation maps, and information on sights and stops for drivers. Goolsby was a prolific photographer in the mid-20th century, and his images of Mexican architecture, landmarks, and local life were frequently featured on vintage linen postcards during the 1930s and 40s. Illustrated with black-and-white photos and color plates of Mexican art views, along with ads for hotels, stores, products, services, and restaurants; folding color map frontispiece.
