Bravo/Carnegie Hall. "A Musical Tribute to Woody Guthrie"

New York: Carnegie Hall, 1968. Quarto, publisher's stapled stiff illustrated paper wraps, loose printed set list laid in.

Original program for an historic tribute concert honoring America's greatest dust bowl troubadour, Woody Guthrie, with original set list laid in. Produced by renowned folk music producer Harold Leventhal three months after Guthrie’s death, the event took place on January 20, 1968, at New York’s Carnegie Hall and featured a legendary line-up of folk icons: Bob Dylan (making his first appearance in the eighteen months following his famous motorcycle accident), Guthrie's son Arlo, Judy Collins, Peter Seeger, Odetta, Richie Havens, Tom Paxton, and Ramblin' Jack Elliott, with actors Will Geer and Robert Ryan providing commentary based on Guthrie's writings. Laid into the program is the rare original one-sheet set list, with listed performances including Dylan’s versions of "Grand Coulee Dam," "Mrs. Roosevelt," and "I Ain't Got No Home," backed by The Band, Collins singing renditions of "Plane Wreck at Los Gatos (Deportee)" and "So Long, It's Been Good to Know Yuh," and Odetta's cover of "Ramblin' Round." Illustrated with black-and-white photos, reproductions, and contemporary ads. Light soiling to program; set list horizontally creased from folding, light soiling, and several closed tears to edges. Very good. Item #12698
