Originally published privately in Cambridge in 1955, The Vestal Lady On Brattle contains poems Corso wrote while he was spending his days reading in Harvard’s Widener Library despite not being enrolled in the university. Corso self-published the book and primarily circulated it among friends, local poets, and Beat associates, before its reissue in this trade edition by famed San Francisco bookshop and publisher City Lights.
