While many lesbian pulp novels of the 1950s and 60s were sensationalized by and for straight men, they inadvertently offered representation for closeted lesbian readers. A subsidiary of sci-fi writers Charles Fritch and Jack Matcha’s Frimac Publications, Private Edition Books was the companion to their more widely recognized sleaze imprint Carousel Books.
