Love? Thank You!
Fresno, CA: Saber-Tropic Books, 1967. 1st Edition. 12mo, publisher’s stiff illustrated paper wraps.
1960s lesbian pulp recounting the forbidden relationship between the curious Carol and her step mother, published by one of failed writer-turned-publisher Sanford Aday’s numerous publishing outfits. While many lesbian pulp novels of the 1950s and 60s were sensationalized by and for straight men, they inadvertently offered representation for closeted lesbian readers. Aday infamously drew the ire of morality groups such as Charles H. Keating’s Citizens for Decent Literature and was later convicted on obscenity charges (subsequently overturned by the Supreme Court). Cover illustration by "king of absurd erotic paperback art" Bill Edwards. Publisher's catalog number 943. Old price sticker to upper wrap. Light creasing and edgewear. Near fine. Item #12368
