Lesbian Starlet
North Hollywood, CA: Brandon House, 1964. 1st Edition. 12mo, publisher’s stiff illustrated paper wraps.
Mid-1960s lesbian pulp following a young starlet who will do anything to make it to the top, authored by American screenwriter Tony Crechales. While many lesbian pulp novels of the 1950s and 60s were sensationalized by and for straight men, they inadvertently offered representation for closeted lesbian readers. Published by leading West Coast sleaze imprint Brandon House, a subsidiary of pornography publisher American Art Enterprises, Inc. Illustrated with black-and-white drawings by the book’s uncredited cover artist (likely Hungarian-born Fred Fixler, the unofficial in-house artist for Brandon House and the primary illustrator for their lesbian paperback series). Publisher's catalog number 705. Some rubbing and soiling to wraps. Very good. Rare. Item #12367
