First edition of writer, photographer, and New York socialite Beauregard Houston-Montgomery’s collection of gossip-columnish essays. Houston-Montgomery was a contributing editor to Details and Doll Reader (he was a serious and accomplished doll collector) in the 1980s and wrote features for Vanity Fair, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, and Vogue, among other major magazines. Pouf Pieces was issued as number 35 in art critic Raymond Foye and Italian painter Francesco Clemente's Hanuman Books series. Founded in 1986, the small press, whose administrative and editorial functions were housed in the Chelsea Hotel, produced their series of small handmade books in Madras, India.
