Inscribed monograph of 60 black-and-white photos depicting a second-floor boxing gym at 145 West 42nd Street, New York, shot by American photographer John Goodman. Founder Jimmy Glenn, who appears in one of the first pictures, opened the gym in 1976 and trained the likes of Wilfred Gomez, Mike Tyson, Larry Holmes, and Muhammad Ali. With text by New York journalist Pete Hamill. Inscribed by Goodman to half-title: "To Max, / My best - / John Goodman / 2/99." With an autograph note signed on Goodman's stationary to downtown poet and performance artist Max Blagg laid in. Minor edgewear. Near fine. Item #12193
