Inscribed early printing of American playwright Harvey Fierstein’s Tony Award-winning trilogy. Originally staged as three one-act plays in the late 1970s, and presented as a full-length play in 1982, the dramas follow Arnold Beckoff, a gay Jewish drag performer in New York, over the course of a decade. The work’s incisive wit and heartfelt writing earned Fierstein widespread acclaim, with "Torch Song Trilogy" receiving multiple Tony Awards, including Best Play. In 1988, it was adapted into a film directed by Paul Bogart starring Fierstein alongside Anne Bancroft and Matthew Broderick. With an introduction by dramaturge James Leverett.
