Catalog published in conjunction with the first major retrospective of work by photographer Francesca Woodman, organized by Ann Gabhart at the Wellesley College Museum and in collaboration with Hunter College Art Gallery, in 1986. Tragically dying by suicide in 1981 at age 23, Woodman left behind a hypnotic and extraordinary body of work, much of it a form of self-portraiture, exploring the female form in relation to space, and making use of experimental techniques to achieve ghostly effects of blurring and self-erasure.
