Catalog published in conjunction with an exhibition of work by Walters Prize-winning New Zealand photographer Yvonne Todd held at Brisbane’s Institute of Modern Art (IMA) in 2007. Trained as a commercial photographer and once a shop assistant at a wig salon, Todd entered the New Zealand art scene in the early 2000s and is best known for her engagement with and deconstruction of exaggerated femininity through neo-Gothic framing. Her first solo show, this exhibition presented a series of perverse studio portraits of costumed young women.
