New York: St. Martin's Press, 1979. 1st Edition. Large octavo, publisher's blue cloth, spine gilt, yellow endpapers, original photo-illustrated dust jacket.
In-depth history of the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer, with much on-the-ground coverage of its World Championship and Grand Prix racing heyday of the 1960s, by English motorcycle columnist for the Daily Mirror Macauley. Illustrated throughout with black-and-white photos of machines, riders and races. Though not signed, this copy belonged to master mechanic Derek "Nobby" Clark, who tuned for riders such as Mike Hailwood, Giacomo Agostini and Kenny Roberts in over 15 championships. Three loose snapshots of Clark over the years laid in. Bottom edge of rear board dented, unclipped dust jacket with some edgewear. Very good. Item #894
