First edition of prize-winning Black poet, painter, and fiction writer Clarence Major’s experimental third novel. Nominated for French Prix Maurice-Edgar Cointreau Award, the book is composed of 433 fragments revolving around Cora Hull, a Black Greenwich Village stage actress. Reflex and Bone Structure was one of the earliest books to be published by pioneering publisher the Fiction Collective. Founded by a group of young authors in 1974, the nonprofit group continues to issue texts that are considered "too challenging, innovative, or heterodox for the commercial milieu."
