Mark Gonzales: Vision Skateboards. Team Pro. [Poster]

[Los Angeles]: Vision Street Wear, 1986. Color photo-illustrated poster (measures 17" x 22").

Original promotional poster for "the godfather of modern street skateboarding" Mark Gonzales’s pro skate deck produced by Vision Street Wear. Founded in 1976 by Brad Dorfman in Los Angeles, Vision arrived on the scene as the skate movement had just begun to flourish across the West Coast. One of the largest and most influential skateboard companies throughout the 80s, it is considered instrumental in bridging skate culture with visual art. Gonzales, aka "The Gonz," was one of the first to team up with Vision to produce a signature deck, "The Pro," which features graphics by Los Angeles-based artist Andy Takakjian. Photos by Tod Swank, one of the earliest American skaters to compete in European contests, and foundational skate photographer J. Grant Brittain. Pinholes to corners, and two or three pinholes to lower left section of poster, else near fine. Item #7660
