Andy Warhol. The Factory Years 1964-1967

New York: St. Martin's Press, 1989. 1st Edition. Quarto, publisher's stiff photo-illustrated wraps, french flaps.

Photojournalist Nat Finkelstein’s documentary photobook on the early years of Warhol’s Factory. After meeting the Pop Art-polymath at a party at the midtown-Manhattan hub, Finkelstein offered his services, becoming the unofficial house photographer and a constant presence for the next three years. Shots include Warhol’s right hand men, Superstars in the making, and long-established legends such as Bob Dylan, Lou Reed, Allen Ginsberg, Edie Sedgwick, Nico, Salvador Dali, and Marcel Duchamp, among others. Profusely illustrated with large format black-and-white plates; with reminiscences by Finkelstein. First printing, with complete number row to copyright page. Ink notation to half-title. Some rubbing, soiling, and edgewear. Very good. Item #7645
