Emporio Armani. Semestrale Magazine. No.1-Africa

Florence: Editoriale Tosca, 1989. Folio, publisher's illustrated stiff paper wraps.

First issue of Georgio Armani’s semi-annual Emporio Armani magazine. Originally conceived of as a catalog for the brand, the magazine quickly evolved into a luxurious brand-defining element of the Armani universe under the direction of the designer’s younger sister, Rosanna. Each issue focused on a single theme that could show the clothing “in context” as an international lifestyle brand, shot by emerging and established photographers, alongside editorial stories and reviews. This issue loosely uses Africa as its backdrop and contains photos by Norman Parker, an interview with Italian director Bernardo Bertolucci, music, art, film, and book reviews. Text in Italian and English. Some wear and waviness to wraps, original price sticker and small tear to upper corner of rear wrap. Very good. Item #7348
