Philadelphia: Institute of Contemporary Art/University of Pennsylvania, 2000. 1st Edition. Quarto, publisher's illustrated stiff paper wraps.
Exhibition catalog for figurative painter Yuskavage's first solo museum show at the Institute of Contemporary Art at the University of Pennsylvania (December 2, 2000 - February 9, 2001), inscribed: "Virginia! / Thank you / Thank you!!! / Lisa Yuskavage," with a small heart beside her signature. Seamlessly blending contemporary cultural imagery and classical pictorial language, Yuskavage marshals color as a conduit for complex psychological constructs" (David Zwirner). Yuskavage received a BFA from the Tyler School of Art, Temple University, and an MFA from the Yale University School of Art. Illustrated throughout with color plates. With an interview with the artist by curator Claudia Gould, and texts by art historians Katy Siegel and Marcia B. Hall; and a checklist, exhibition history and bibliography. Fine. Item #619
