Alien. Ridley Scott, Topps, director.

Alien. [Trading Cards - Full Set]

New York: The Topps Company, 1979.

"In space, nobody can hear you scream." Vintage trading cards and stickers for Ridley Scott’s epochal 1979 science fiction horror film Alien. After the major success of the now-iconic action figures and related merchandise released in conjunction with the 1977 premiere of the first Star Wars film, American toy company Topps followed suit with Alien-themed toys and games. Along with the notorious 18-inch action figure of the films's alien antagonist, which sold poorly due to public outcry among concerned parents, Topps produced this set of promotional trading cards. This is a complete run of the full series with all 84 cards and 22 stickers. Each card and sticker either reproduces stills from the film or features a character portrait; the back of each card either narrates the scene depicted on the front, or is a puzzle piece. Each card and sticker numbered and printed in color. Includes one printed wax paper wrapper (cards were sold in individually wrapped packs of ten, plus one sticker and a stick of bubble gum – not present). Fine. Item #5109
