"If a thing loves, it is infinite." Poster for an exhibition of romantic visionary William Blake’s work held at London’s Tate Gallery in the spring of 1978. Organized in conjunction with the William Blake Trust, the show presented 300 items by Blake drawn from public and private collections in the UK, the US, and Australia, including paintings, drawings, prints, and pages from Blake’s hand colored books. The show marked the installation and opening of the “Blake Room,” which provided the controlled levels of temperature, humidity, and light to ensure that Blake’s work did not deteriorate.
