Weekly desk calendar for 1945 illustrated with photos of quintessential Parisian views. A "photographic journey to the France that once was," this calendar was one of several items produced by the American Relief for France (later known as the American Aid for France or AAF), a New York-based relief organization, in order to raise funds for rehabilitative services and assistance in the reconstruction of France in the aftermath of WWII. Illustrated in black-and-white with over 50 full-page photos of interwar Paris, predominantly captured by pioneering street photographer Fred Stein, and with snapshots by "beauty photographer" Fernand Fonssagrives, Hungarian photographer Andre de Dienes (noted for his portraits of Marilyn Monroe), and German photographer Hans Zellner.
