New York: Artcover, 1980. Oblong quarto, publisher's stapled photo-illustrated self-wraps.
Third issue of editor Judith Aminoff’s cutting edge and experimental arts periodical. An outcome of the post-punk aesthetic that permeated New York during the No Wave era, Aminoff’s magazine covered the proliferation of work by then-emerging artists, writers, and musicians. Each issue presented a diversity of contributors, and included interviews, creative pieces and excerpts from works in progress in a variety of media, and a "circuits" column that offered news and miscellaneous info. The present issue includes an excerpt from Kathy Acker’s Great Expectations (1982), coverage on forthcoming exhibitions at the Mudd Club (photos taken at the legendary downtown fixture feature throughout), snippets by Carolee Schneeman, Joan Jonas, Jeanne Quinn, Dike Blair, Glenn O'Brien, Gordon Matta-Clark, Joseph Kosuth and Ad Reinhardt among others, a profile on Alan Vega, stills from Joan Logue’s "Electronic Portrait" series, a feature on the "(New) New Wave" music and film scenes, and much more. Illustrated throughout with black-and-white photos, reproductions and advertisements. Light wear to extremities. Very good. Uncommon. Item #4102
