Collection of travel essays by pioneering trans writer Jan Morris – born James Humphry Morris. Morris started as a reporter for the Times (UK), going on to win a multitude of accolades for both her journalism and prolific work as a travel writer. Morris published under her birth name James until 1972, when she underwent gender reassignment surgery. Includes seventeen essays, on such places as Alexandria, Calcutta, Fiji, Iceland, Kashmir, Swaziland and Wyoming; illustrated with numerous black-and-white photos.
