Brooklyn: KTAV Publishing Company, Inc., 1979. 1st Edition. Quarto, publisher's illustrated stiff paper wraps.
Children’s book recounting the author’s experiences in hiding during the European Holocaust. Hoffman matter-of-factly recounts her family's flight from Germany to Amsterdam in the wake of Kristallnacht, her movement between foster homes and deportation to a concentration camp, and the exhilaration of liberation, all the while doing her best to keep tabs on her friend and neighbor, a boy a few years older than her named Joseph. Illustrated throughout with black-and-white historical photos and original drawings by fellow survivor Lili Cassel-Wronker; with a glossary. Published by Brooklyn-based Judaica and educational publisher KTAV. Abrasion to rear wrap from sticker removal, some edgewear. Very good. Item #3679
