Vintage photographic print (measures 7.5" x 9.5"), captioned to verso in brown marker.
Vintage black-and-white photographic print, shot during Dylan’s 1975 benefit concert for imprisoned boxer Rubin "Hurricane" Carter. Held on the final night of his Rolling Thunder Revue tour, the "Night of the Hurricane" was a reference to Dylan’s epic eight-minute protest song "Hurricane," which he co-wrote and recorded with Jacques Levy after meeting Carter in prison that year. The Revue, which featured a rotating cast of musicians and creatives including Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez, Sam Shepard, Allen Ginsberg, and Roberta Flack, played on December 8th, 1975, to a sold-out Madison Square Garden, where more than a $100,000 was collected for Carter’s legal fund, leading to Carter's pronouncement that the benefit "was almost a vindication." Photographer unknown. Some creasing and edgewear. Very good. Item #3300
