[Paris, Texas screenplay]

[Tehran]: Ney Publishing House, [2004]. [2nd printing]. Octavo, publisher's pictorially illustrated stiff paper wraps.

Farsi translation of the screenplay for Wim Wenders's 1984 art-house classic Paris, Texas, as part of Tehran publisher Ney Publishing House's series 100 Years of Cinema, 100 Screenplays. Paris, Texas was one of the first screenplay translations by Iranian journalist and film critic Houshang Golmakani, a founder of the oldest post-revolutionary Iranian film magazine, Film. With a translated critical essay, "Between the Winds," originally written by American film scholars Robert Phillip Kolker and Peter Beicken. Includes brief bios and headshots of both Wenders and Shepard, and a few black-and-white stills from the film. Nastassja Kinski is notably absent from these stills, only appearing on the cover in a conservative cableknit sweater. Fine. Item #2289
