[New York]: [Conde Nast], 1991. 1st Edition. Quarto, publisher's pictorially illustrated paper wraps.
Scarce Calvin Klein Vanity Fair magazine supplement shot by Bruce Weber, with 116 pages of black-and-white photos depicting a stylized world of 90s Americana, rock star sexuality and jeans, featuring Markus Schenkenberg, Carre Otis, Lisa Marie, and Bill Graham. With six exposed bottoms, 27 bare-chested men and two topless women, the campaign was controversial and rumored to have been suppressed after publication (a source from a market research firm told a contemporary New York Times reviewer, "Looking at it in the office, we were shocked...even for pretty liberated New Yorkers"). Limited to an edition of 10,000, Calvin Klein produced the supplement in-house at Vanity Fair and had it inserted at random and distributed in the United States with the October 1991 issue. Light rubbing to extremities, particularly to spine. Very good. . Item #2268
