Publisher's pre-publication promotional brochure for Pulitzer Prize-winning author Ford's widely acclaimed first short story collection, Rock Springs, featuring the story "Children," included in the collection, about two teenagers' loss of innocence in remote Montana, signed by Ford: "Claude Philips was a half-Blackfeet Indian, and his father, Sherman, was a full-blooded, and in 1961 our families rented out farm houses from the bank in Great Falls... Claude Philips and I were seventeen, and in a year from the day I am going to tell about, in May, I would be long gone from there myself, and so would Claude."
