Chadds Ford, PA: Poetry on Films, 1970. 1st Edition. Quarto, publisher's saddle-stapled photo-illustrated paper wraps, pink front free endpaper.
Signed trade edition of poet and filmmaker Malanga's collection of poems dedicated to his Pennsylvania muse and poncho-wearing hippie girlfriend Christina (posing on the cover). Malanga wrote most of the poems on May 10, 1970 while in Chadds Ford, PA – not far from Andrew Wyeth's farm. Malanga was a key associate of Warhol's and an active member of the Factory from 1963 to 1970, helping produce silkscreens, acting in and producing films, and launching Interview magazine as a founding editor. One of 474 copies of the trade edition, signed on the title page (an additional 26 copies were issued signed, with an original silkscreen print, and lettered A-Z). Corner's bumped, slight soiling and rubbing to wraps near staples. Overall a near fine copy of a scarce and fragile book. Item #1112
