Gainesville, FL: North Flordia Publishing Co., 1985. 1st Edition. Oblong octavo, publisher's stapled photo-illustrated stiff paper wraps.
Collection of Major Joel Glenn's black-and-white 3D stereoscopic photos taken with a Stereo Realist camera between 1965 and 1970, thought to be the only 3D photos documenting the Vietnam War. Glenn was a Silver Star-decorated helicopter pilot, serving two tours in Vietnam, and an avid photographer, who took photos of everything from aerial views in an attack aircraft to the Vietnamese village markets. "These are not the pictures of a combat photographer...it is the job of a professional photographer to take pictures while the job of a soldier is to be a soldier...The pictures presented here are mixed in the mind's eye with countless missed photo opportunities of action, turmoil and beauty" (from Glenn's introduction). Includes original plastic stereoscopic viewer. Slightest rubbing to spine head and tail, else near fine. Scarce. Item #1111
